Biographical Information

Henry H. Douglas (1903-1987) founded the Pioneer America Society in 1967 and served as its executive director. A resident of Falls Church, Virginia, Douglas was an editor of Pioneer America and Echoes of History - both publications of the Pioneer America Society - in the 1960s and 1970s. The publications focused on historic sites of Northern Virginia.

One area of focus in these papers is Beverley Mill, a historic grist mill near Broad Run, VA. Douglas' notes and collected materials are mostly from the 1960s and 1970s.
